“Jaggies” were the saw blade edges you’d see on games with lower graphics, think PS1. Edges are more rounded with 3Dfx, cleaner than the “jaggies” you used to see in some games without the graphics upgrade. The graphics are really great and better than the original NFS II, they improved the software graphics for NFS II SE and added the 3Dfx for the 3Dfx Voodoo cards to further improve graphics. I’ve always liked NFS for its control and NFS II SE is no different. Now-a-days you can get 8 Gb for five bucks but back then a gigabyte was upwards of around $180! I still love the way it controls.
Yeah I know today’s games have multiple tracks and an incredible amount of cars, I’ve played Forza and Grand Turismo and numerous other racing games, but remember it was 1997. It’s really fast and adds four cars to the original eight and one extra track to the original seven. Originally made for a Pentium 90 Mhz, 20 Mb (yes megabyte not gigabyte!) and good old Windows 95, this was a great upgrade to the original now with 3Dfx. The film did decent business though, so what are the odds of Need For Speed 2? Need For Speed Tanked In The U.S.Made by EA, Electronics Arts, in 1997 this was an upgrade to the original Need for Speed and second in the NFS franchise that’s still in existence today. The film's action was a little more grounded than the Fast And Furious series, but despite some exciting car chases, it was let down by tepid drama. Aaron Paul led the cast of this big-budget adaptation of the EA game series, with a supporting cast that included Imogen Poots, Dominic Cooper and Michael Keaton. The genre has yet to produce a truly fantastic movie, however, and 2014's Need For Speed did little to elevate the genre. The critical reputation of video game movies or TV adaptations is getting a little better, thanks to the success of Netflix's Castlevania or Detective Pikachu. The film was a flop and further duds like Street Fighter and Double Dragon followed, though 1995's Mortal Kombat is still a b-movie gem. The first attempt was 1993's Super Mario Bros, which suffered through a messy production and swapped out the cheerful tone of the games for a dark, dingy Blade Runner look. Will Aaron Paul rev up again for Need For Speed 2? From the very beginning, video games have been proven tough to successfully adapt into movies.
